Reducing CO


Thus, blending iQ (NuPlastiQ) BioPolymer with legacy plastics will dramatically reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions:

  • According to industry Life Cycle Analyses (LCAs), 1.9 kilograms (kg) of CO2 equivalents are emitted for everykg of polyethylene produced. (Source: Plastics Europe)

It gets even better: In addition to the direct replacement of polyethylene, adding iQ (NuPlastiQ) BioPolymer provides increased strength to the film. This means that the thickness of even thin films can often be reduced by 25%.

  • Replacing 25% of the 56 million metric tons of polyethylene* used annually in plastic films would result in a reduction of 28 Million Metric Tons of CO2 equivalents, or approximately 40-50%.**

    • This is the same effect as taking over 5 million cars off the road!
